Company History

Professional Construction and Restoration has been in business since 01 Jan 2000 It was founded by Andrew Propst. Prior to starting Professional Construction and Restoration I served 5 years active duty in the US Navy as a Navy corpsman attached to the marines and stationed at Camp Pendleton. I have strived to retain and instill the values taught to me in the military into my company.

The company originally started in California servicing Orange and LA Counties. The company relocated the to Orlando and Brevard County in 2003 a somewhat risky move to take a profitable business and close it down to relocate across country. But I was confident that jobs would be more profitable in Florida then in California for my company due to the increased Humidity in Florida and the need for qualified companies in the area so I sold my house in Southern California, closed down the business and moved the company here to Florida. All the money that I had made I poured into advertising and additional equipment, purchasing over $250,000 in additional equipment and heavily advertising in Brevard County and Orlando.

Well that year 2004 we were hit by 3 hurricanes it was a case of being in the right place at the right time. After all luck is where opportunity meets preparation. Then in 2005 all the profits from those hurricanes were reinvested in the business and we begin to service the entire state of Florida and opened several new offices throughout the state.

Then in 2006 Hurricane Katrina hit the Florida Keys as well as Mississippi and Louisiana so we responded to assist with disaster recovery in those areas as well. Those profits were also reinvested in the business. Now in 2008 we have responded to both tropical storm Hanna in Brevard and Hurricane Ike in Texas. Despite our extensive work with storm damage the majority of our business comes from residential and commercial water and fire losses caused by such mundane things as water pipes breaking, fire sprinkler systems malfunctioning, washing machine and ice maker lines breaking, faulty wiring, industrial fires, roof leaks and failures, kitchen fires and the like.

We have also expanded to provide expert witness work for attorneys throughout the state to represent them in binding arbitration and court cases involving scope of work and cost disputes regarding insurance claims. We are very good at what we do and have never had a complaint against the contractor’s license or an unresolved complaint with the BBB. In binding arbitration, we have been the prevailing party in all 32 arbitration meetings this year and have never been on the losing side in a court case as the expert witness.

What set us apart from other companies doing this business is the way we perform the jobs and the quality of the workers and staff that perform those jobs other companies in this business that do what we do don’t provide a complete service. We do all of the emergency services to prevent further damage then we meet the insurance adjusters onsite and agree on the cost for repairs using an Xactimate format (this is the standard for property insurance claims it is used nationwide and updated monthly for every city in the country) then rebuild the entire building or home other companies only perform a portion of these services and leave buildings in many times worse then when they started.
