Fire Damage Clean-up, Restoration Construction Procedures

In any fire damage loss these three issues need to be addressed; the building needs to be dried as most fires are put out with water, the fire damaged materials that are unsalvageable must be removed and the smoke odor and soot must be removed.


These are the fire damage clean-up, restoration construction procedures for a fire damaged building:

1.Make sure that the building is safe if an electrical fire has occurred all power must be shut off to the building also the structural integrity of the building needs to be evaluated to ensure that it will not collapse durning fire damage clean-up, restoration construction.

2.Remove all contents from the building items that are to be disposed of are photographed and items that are to be salvaged are cleaned and put in storage we prefer to use portable on site storage where practical.

3.All fire damaged building materials are removed.

4.A generator must be brought in where there is no power and the water removal process begins if the fire was put out with water.

5.Begin the process of smoke removal; all air ducts are cleaned or replaced depending on type of smoke and extent of fire, all walls, floors, ceilings and salvageable building materials are cleaned, all walls and ceilings are encapsulated, air scrubbers are placed on site and ozone machines or thermal foggers are used to remove smoke from the air.

6. Project manager is assigned and will provide a written xactimate estimate for the repairs needed. If we are contracted to do the repairs we will also meet with the adjuster and come to an agreement on what fire damage clean-up, restoration construction repairs are needed.
